TUESDAY BRIEFING: CPUC Proposal Would Cut PG&E Wildfire Cost Recovery by $477 Million

The CPUC issued a proposed decision in A.23-06-008 that, if adopted, would authorize PG&E to recover approximately $1.768 billion in 2020–2022 wildfire mitigation costs, reducing its $2.246 billion request by $477 million, or 21%.

ALJ Elaine Lau’s proposal addresses PG&E's Wildfire Mitigation Plan Memorandum Account and Fire Risk Mitigation Memorandum Account. Gas safety and electric modernization costs will be considered in a later decision.

The earliest the Commission will consider the PD is November 19. Comments are due October 8.
