CRI's Expanded Enterprise Services

Please pardon the interruption: this post offers a news alert on CRI's expansion into full-scale consulting work.

Here at CRI, we have formalized and expanded our enterprise service offerings into a three-tranche structure designed to meet the full range of regulatory intelligence needs for energy companies, utilities, trading desks, law firms, CCAs, and regulatory affairs departments.

This expansion introduces more modular pricing that can be tailored to your company's specific needs, buoyed by our robust network of professional colleagues in the energy and legal worlds. We also offer media production capabilities for clients who prefer video briefings.

Since launching in October 2025, CRI has delivered continuous weekday intelligence on the California Public Utilities Commission and the broader California energy regulatory landscape. Our readers have made clear that this need extends beyond digital platform access.

Organizations require different modes of engagement depending on whether they need ongoing embedded intelligence, matter-specific monitoring tied to a live proceeding or tariff, or a defined-scope project with a fixed deliverable.

The expanded enterprise structure addresses each of these directly. For example, if your interest is one particular proceeding (e.g., Demand Response) or one specific rate schedule (e.g., B-20 Transmission or BTS) we can set up analytic reporting focused on that item.

Tranche 1 — Embedded Intelligence

  • This tranche represents CRI's fullest engagement with your organization.
  • Tranche 1 offers ongoing engagement with full platform access, continuous weekday monitoring, and escalating advisory depth.
  • This is the foundational CRI enterprise relationship: unlimited users across your organization, bi-weekly cross-docket reporting (or an agreed cadence), organization-specific monitoring add-ons, standalone memoranda, briefing calls, video briefings, and (at the top levels) high-priority turnaround, direct analyst access, quantitative modeling, and legislative/lobbying advisory.
  • Four levels of this tranche are available, starting at $3,000 per month.

Tranche 2 — Proceeding-Specific or Tariff Engagement

  • Tranche 2 is scoped to a live docket or rate schedule, with deliverables and analyst access calibrated to the complexity of the matter. A single-docket watch at $1,500 per month provides monthly filings tracking and a client-specific analytical lens on one active CPUC proceeding.
  • At the upper end, full regulatory support is available across a contested proceeding and includes near-real-time filing alerts, with analysis and recommended action, uncapped memoranda, and direct access to CRI's regulatory, quantitative, and legislative teams.

Tranche 3 — Standalone Projects

  • Tranche 3 offers fixed-scope regulatory analysis ranging from a single-docket snapshot to a comprehensive multi-utility assessment.
  • A Regulatory Snapshot starts at $2,500 and delivers a single omnibus memorandum with a briefing call.
  • A Comprehensive Engagement at $20,000 and above provides a full regulatory map with scenario analysis, uncapped deliverables, and advisory access throughout the project lifecycle.

These tranches can be combined or layered depending on your organization's needs.

What This Change Means for Current and Prospective Subscribers

  • The daily intelligence published on this platform remains unchanged. CRI's continuous weekday coverage of CPUC proceedings, decisions, rulings, rate cases, and regulatory developments is the production system that powers everything we do.
  • The enterprise tranches formalize how organizations can engage with CRI beyond the platform — whether that means embedded advisory, matter-specific intelligence on a proceeding that directly affects your operations, or a one-time deep dive before a board presentation or strategic decision.
  • If your organization is already reading CRI, know that we are available to become a legitimate force multiplier for your team.
